The Henderson Cultural Center is located on Hunt Hill Farm in New Milford, Connecticut. The Center is comprised of several elements: The Skitch Henderson Museum, The Silo Gallery, The Hunt Hill Farm Land Preserve and The Silo Store and Cooking School.
The Skitch Henderson American Music Archive was made possible through the generous support of the Portell Foundation. In December 2007, CASO began scanning over 40,000 pages of musical scores, laying the groundwork for this musical repository honoring the life and work of beloved musician, Skitch Henderson. CASO also provides an Online Document Repository, which went live in February 2008 to allow online visitors the chance to enjoy scores from Mr. Henderson’s personal collection, including his original notations. Today, over 300 musical scores from his personal library are available online at http://www.documentaccess.com/hhft/
“This library without walls,” said Natalie Portell, “provides an exceptional resource for scholars of multiple aspects of twentieth-century music history.” The Portell Foundation has insured that generations of musicians can continue to learn from and experience the wealth of music found within this collection.
